BBC's 100th Anniversary Celebrated in Two-Minute Video

The BBC, the world's longest-running broadcaster, celebrated its centenary on October 18, 2022. Founded as a radio station on that date in 1922 with involvement from Guglielmo Marconi's Marconi Company, it later launched television service in 1936. To mark 100 years, the broadcaster commissioned a celebratory video titled 'This is Our BBC' from creative duo Rachel + Michael, directed by Seb Edwards and Sam Rice-Edwards. The two-minute film condenses a century of programming through archival footage, featuring a chorus of voices from various years and schedules to define the institution's identity. The BBC is affectionately known as 'Auntie' by the British public.
