BBC Presenter Tony Livesey Steps Back Amid David Sullivan Allegations

BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Tony Livesey has temporarily stepped away from his weeknight show following allegations linked to his former colleague, billionaire David Sullivan. Several women have accused Sullivan, co-owner of West Ham United, of sexual exploitation and predatory behavior, with some claims dating back to the 1980s when they were teenagers. Sullivan has strongly denied all allegations, calling them "factually incorrect and entirely false." The claims emerged from a joint investigation by The Times and BBC Panorama. One alleged victim stated that Livesey arranged a meeting between her and Sullivan in 1999. Livesey said he has "no recollection" of this and finds the allegation "abhorrent." He has requested a break from presenting while the BBC examines the issues. Livesey previously served as editor-in-chief of Sullivan's Sport newspapers and has worked at the BBC since 2006. The investigation also examined a feature called "Countdown to 16" in the Sport papers, which Livesey initially claimed to have co-created but now denies, stating parts of his book were fictionalized. Sullivan has stepped down from his role at West Ham in light of the allegations.
