Baveno's monumental light fountains return for second edition on Lake Maggiore

The second edition of 'Baveno e Feriolo d’Incanto – Luci, Colori, Emozioni' is running nightly until August 31 on the lakeside of Baveno, a town on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore. The show features monumental illuminated fountains synchronized to music, extending 40 meters across the lake—10 meters longer than last year. Performances occur at 21:30, 22:00, and 22:30. The event also includes a laser projection on the quarry mountain behind the nearby village of Feriolo, running until August 24. Conceived by Baveno's young mayor Alessandro Monti, the event has a budget of €150,000, of which €100,000 comes from private sponsors. Main sponsor is Zacchera Hotels, a family-run hospitality group founded in Baveno in 1873, now the largest hotel group on Lake Maggiore with five properties. The opening weekend drew over 2,000 spectators. Monti has also proposed creating the 'Golfo Borromeo' brand, convening the Borromeo family, tourism entrepreneurs, mayors, the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, and the Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola in October. A new five-star luxury hotel, Bosco Palace Hotel, is set to open in May 2026 inside a restored 1881 historic residence. Adjacent will be the Riva Beach Club and Riva Lounge restaurant, a brand present in exclusive locations like Venice, Porto Cervo, Monte Carlo, Formentera, Mykonos, and Palm Beach. On August 10, the event will peak with a special San Lorenzo Night featuring a violin and piano performance on a floating platform.
