Bauhaus Imaginista: Four Exhibitions for the School's Centenary
The Bauhaus Imaginista project is a global initiative comprising four exhibitions that explore the worldwide impact of the Bauhaus school on modern culture, commemorating its 100th anniversary since its establishment by Walter Gropius in Weimar. This project spans from March 2018 to 2019 and includes exhibitions in Brazil, Russia, Japan, and China, alongside workshops in Nigeria, Morocco, the U.S., and India. Curators Marion von Osten and Grant Watson created four thematic sections centered on significant Bauhaus objects. The exhibition Corresponding With was held at Kyoto's National Museum of Modern Art (closing October 8, 2018). Moving Away took place at the China Design Museum (April–July 2018) and Moscow's Garage Museum until November 30, 2018. Learning From is currently at SESC Pompéia in Brazil until January 10, 2019, while the concluding exhibition, Still Undead, is scheduled for Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt from March 15 to June 10, 2019.
