Battles Live at Quirinetta Previews Spring Attitude Festival 2016

On a mild evening in late March, the Spring Attitude Festival previewed its upcoming edition with a Battles concert at Teatro Quirinetta in Rome. The New York band, returning to Italy after headlining Club To Club in Turin the previous year, delivered an energetic two-hour set including extended versions of tracks like 'Atlas'. The venue, packed beyond capacity, was deemed unsuitable for the performance. Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith opened the night with a short set, followed by Turin-based Niagara warming up the crowd. The audience grew exponentially between 10 and 11 PM, enjoying the band's fluid, unpredictable electronic sound. The main room was cleared of chairs for the occasion. The full Spring Attitude Festival is scheduled for May 19-21, 2016, with a lineup including Gold Panda, Acid Arab, Red Axes, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Pantha du Prince, Dorian Concept, Clap!Clap!, Dj Tennis, Rone, Go Dugong, Young Marco, Ma Spaventi, AIR, Matthew Herbert, Iosonouncane, Hunee, Not Waving, and Max Graef b2b Glenn Astro. Venues include the Maxxi museum on May 19, the former Guido Reni barracks on May 20, and a double event on May 21 at the same barracks and Spazio Novecento at EUR.
