Basmah Felemban's 'Consecrated Networks' Opens at ATHR
ATHR gallery in Jeddah presents Basmah Felemban's first solo exhibition 'Consecrated Networks', curated by Ruba Al-Sweel. Opening March 6, 2024 during ATHR's 15-year anniversary, the show spans three gallery spaces with a decade of multimedia, research-based works. Inspired by Jeddah's urban landscape and networked communications, Felemban translates physical reality through data exchange, drawing from Islamic cosmology, architecture, and pop culture. She manipulates language into form or absence—using catfish for erasure—to explore world-building, nostalgia, theology, and geopolitical migration structures. The exhibition runs until end of May 2024.
