Basezero launches AstaLife auction with no minimum bids in Milan
Basezero, an Italian auction house that began as an experimental venture two years ago, has introduced a new initiative named AstaLife. This marks the first occasion where artworks by globally acclaimed historicized artists will be auctioned via an ascending-bid format, starting with a free offer (Basezero) from buyers. Bids must increase by €50 up to €1,000, €100 from €1,000 to €5,000, and €500 for amounts exceeding €5,000. Operating as a mobile auction house, Basezero holds events in prestigious cultural locations. The next auction is scheduled at the CityLife residences, designed by Zaha Hadid in Milan, with exhibitions starting on Saturday, November 5 at 10:30 AM, and the main auction occurring on Wednesday, November 9 and Thursday, November 10 at 6:30 PM, featuring 176 lots. Notable artists include Fausto Melotti, Ugo Nespolo, and contemporary figures like Francesco De Molfetta. Design pieces from Verner Panton and others will also be available, alongside photographs from the Discover CityLife competition, with proceeds awarded to the photographers.
