Basel Museum Directors Urge Swiss Government to Reopen Cultural Institutions

A coalition of Basel museum directors has issued an open letter to the Swiss Federal Council demanding the reopening of museums across the country, arguing that cultural institutions can safely operate under COVID-19 protocols. It states that individual visits do not cause crowding and that cultural engagement is vital for mental well-being during the pandemic. Swiss museums remain closed until at least the end of February under current federal regulations.
