Bari's Summer Cinema Guide 2023: Outdoor Screenings Across the City

For the summer of 2023, Artribune highlights Bari's open-air cinemas, part of Italy's Cinema Revolution initiative by the Ministry of Culture, offering tickets priced at €3.50. The guide features four locations: Arena 4 Palme at Multicinema Galleria, celebrating its 25th anniversary with 2K digital projections, will showcase restored classics such as Hayao Miyazaki's 'Ponyo on the Cliff' (July 11) and Martin Scorsese's 'Raging Bull' (July 26), along with Davide Barletti and Lorenzo Conte's documentary 'Il tempo dei giganti' on the xylella crisis (July 27), running until early September at 9 PM. Cinema Arena Airiciclotteri, opened in 2001, is described by Gianrico Carofiglio as a romantic spot; dates are pending. Arena Expostmoderno on Via Napoli will host the 'Festa del Cinema in Libertà' from July 4 to 27, featuring various films and author events. Lastly, Arco Barberio in Castellana Grotte will screen 'Educare lo sguardo,' including 'La Mafia uccide solo d'Estate' (July 4) and 'The Danish Girl' (July 11), which won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2016.
