Bari restaurant Vettor launches art project Shot with Lula Broglio
In Bari, the restaurant Vettor, named after artist Vettor Pisani and opened in 2019 by collector Michele Spinelli, has launched a new art project called Shot. The first exhibition features a painting by Lula Broglio (born 1993 in Sanremo) titled 'Another Crying Horse', never exhibited before. The project is curated by independent curator Roberta Mansueto, who collaborates with Spinelli. The initiative aims to revive cultural life after the pandemic lockdown, combining art, design, and food culture. Mansueto and Spinelli were interviewed by Giuseppe Amedeo Arnesano for Artribune. Mansueto also co-founded Salgemma, a communication and publishing project for Puglia's art scene. Spinelli, one of Italy's youngest contemporary art collectors, emphasizes the need to move beyond event-based culture and support independent art production. He recalls that Vettor Pisani participated six times in the Venice Biennale, three times in the Rome Quadriennale, twice in Documenta Kassel, and was featured at the Guggenheim New York. The restaurant's menu creation is likened to curating an exhibition. The project seeks to engage both diners and passersby, with future shows planned for young artists.
