Bard Yersin Architectes Convert Disused Stable into 228 m² Apartment in Rural Switzerland
In Praz-Pury, Switzerland, Bard Yersin Architectes converted a disused stable of a 1930s farm into a 228 m² apartment. The 2024 renovation, curated by Nina Vuga, preserves the region's archetypal single-roof structure that shelters both living and agricultural quarters. Principal architects David Bard and Thibault Yersin led the project, with technical support from Kim Yerly and structural engineering by Daniel Bard. Reflecting the consistent farm typology of Fribourg's countryside, the design reorganizes the space into three structural bays. Suppliers such as Geberit, Feller, Gasser ceramic, HGC, and Isover provided materials. Photography by David Bard documents the transformation.
