BAR X Brings Contemporary Art to Italian Bars, Starting in Cremona

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Giorgio Galotti, gallerist and founder of Dama Project and co-founder of Hypermaremma, has launched BAR X, a project that installs contemporary art in bars across Italy. The first edition, BAR Cremona, runs during Cremona Art Week from May 18 to 26, 2024. It features artists Thomas Braida, Andrea Magnani, and Marta Ravasi in conversation with Riccardo Baruzzi, focusing on painting and creative processes. The venue is Torrefazione Caffè Vittoria, a historic bar in Cremona. The project includes a series of breakfast talks titled "Pane, olio e marmellata" to discuss the state of painting. Galotti conceived BAR X as an extension of a series directed by Rossella Farinotti, with support from organizers including artist Ettore Favini. The project aims to use bars as natural meeting places for art, with works displayed during regular business hours. Each edition will focus on a different medium, starting with painting. The first conversation is scheduled for May 18 at 12:30 PM.
