Banksy's former agent Steve Lazarides opens new London street art gallery Lazinc Sackville
In London's Mayfair, Steve Lazarides, the man behind Banksy's rise to fame, has inaugurated a 370-square-meter street art gallery named Lazinc Sackville, located on Sackville Street, close to Piccadilly. The gallery's first exhibition, running from January 12 to February 28, 2018, showcases French street artist JR's "Giants – Body of Work," which features 3D installations of athletes from the 2016 Rio Olympics. Additionally, JR has created a site-specific piece for the gallery's exterior. Lazarides established the Lazinc brand in 2006 after opening his first gallery on Rathbone Street. He became Banksy's agent after their initial meeting during a photoshoot and co-launched the "Pictures on Walls" website in 2001, though their partnership ended in 2010. In 2016, Lazarides co-curated an unauthorized Banksy retrospective and owns the Banksy Print Gallery in South East London.
