Banksy's bulletproof vest for Stormzy nominated for Design Museum award alongside COVID-19 visualization
A stab-proof vest featuring a Union flag design, crafted by Banksy for Stormzy's performance at Glastonbury in 2019, has been nominated for the Beazley Designs of the Year award. The shortlist includes 74 entries, such as a 3D representation of the COVID-19 virus, the popular TikTok dance 'The Renegade', and a hospital in Wuhan built in just 12 days. Recognition was also given to special effects from Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'. Tim Marlow, director of the Design Museum, highlighted that the exhibition reflects design from January 2019 to late January 2020, focusing on issues like inequality and technology. The exhibition runs at the Design Museum in London until 28 March 2021, with the winner to be revealed on 26 November 2020. Banksy noted the vest is bulletproof against .45 caliber but not suitable for machine washing.
