Bangkok's DIB Museum Opens December 2025 with Spirituality-Focused Collection

institutional · 2026-04-26

The DIB museum is set to debut on December 21, 2025, in the Khlong Thoei area of Bangkok, under the ownership of the Osathanugrah family, who hold the 13th position on Forbes' list of Thailand's wealthiest individuals. This initiative was conceived by Petch Osathanugrah, who passed away two years prior. His extensive collection, amassed over three decades, features pieces from renowned artists such as Picasso, Hirst, Tiravanija, and Boonma, and has now been enhanced with works by Salle, Kwade, Stella, Murakami, and Vatanajyankur. The term DIB translates to 'raw' in Thai, signifying its industrial roots. Designed by WHY Architecture, the museum incorporates Theravada Buddhist influences and comprises eleven galleries, meditation spaces, and a courtyard. The first exhibition, titled '(In)visible Presence,' will delve into the relationship between art and spirituality, curated by Miwako Tezuka.
