Bangkok Group Show Uses Bruno Latour's 'Landing' to Examine Cross-Border Journeys

exhibition · 2026-04-24

At JWD Art Space in Bangkok, there's a group exhibition curated by Phiraya Ardwichai that explores Bruno Latour's concept of 'landing.' It features five pieces that reflect on the forced movements of nature and living creatures, whether across borders or even to the moon. While the show touches on Latour's idea of a healing landing, it also addresses harsh truths like green imperialism and colonialism. Anurak Tanyapalit's video, 'A Trip to the Moon (Tardigrade)' (2025), features tardigrades discussing the 2019 crash of Israel’s Beresheet probe. Shiori Watanabe’s piece (2024) shows the ecological effects of bluegill fish introduced to Japan in 1960. The exhibition runs until August 3 and will be featured in ArtReview Asia's Summer 2025 issue.
