Bangkok Art Biennale's 2022-23 Edition Explores Chaos and Calm Across Multiple Venues

The third edition of the Bangkok Art Biennale, titled 'Chaos: Calm,' is taking place until 23 February across 11 locations and one online platform in Bangkok, Thailand. Curated by Apinan Poshyananda, Nigel Hurst, Loredana Pazzini-Paracciani, Jirat Ratthawongjirakul, and Chomwan Weeraworawit, the event showcases 73 artists. At Wat Prayoon, Yee I-Lann presents her video 'Pangkis' (2021), depicting a dance by Murut warriors. Zhanna Kadyrova's pieces are exhibited alongside Nengi Omuku's artwork at JWD Artspace. The Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC) features Arthur Jafa's video 'Love is the Message, The Message is Death' (2016) and works from the APY Art Centre Collective. Collective Absentia's performance 'Again and Again' (2022) critiques political violence in Myanmar, echoing the tumultuous spirit of contemporary society.
