Banca Ifis and Associazione Genesi sign three-year art partnership for social inclusion
Banca Ifis, chaired by Ernesto Fürstenberg Fassio, and Associazione Genesi, founded by Letizia Moratti, have signed a three-year agreement to promote social inclusion and human rights through contemporary art. The first initiative features artist Pascale Marthine Tayou in a double exhibition curated by Ilaria Bernardi. One installation, 'Il Genio dell'Aquila,' is displayed in the courtyard of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia until September 27. The other, 'Dreams in Giza,' is installed at the Parco Internazionale di Scultura di Banca Ifis in Mestre, open every Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 and one Saturday evening per month, with reservation via the Ifis art app. 'Il Genio dell'Aquila' is a colored glass totem previously exhibited in 2022 in L'Aquila at the monastery of San Domenico, symbolizing art's regenerative power. 'Dreams in Giza' is a large installation of metal tubes with colorful ovoid elements, engaging in dialogue with the Venetian project. Tayou's works explore boundaries between identity and otherness. Fassio stated that art is a key tool for promoting social inclusion and human rights, and that the Parco Internazionale di Scultura at Villa Fürstenberg in Mestre now enriches its program with Tayou's work. Moratti noted that Associazione Genesi defends human rights through contemporary art and already owns a work by Tayou, making this exhibition a natural continuation of their relationship.
