Balloon Museum opens in Rome with interactive inflatable art

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Balloon Museum, the first museum entirely dedicated to balloon and inflatable art, has opened in Rome's Pratibus District. The inaugural exhibition 'Let's Fly', produced by Lux Eventi, runs until May 1, 2022, featuring works by international artists including Cyril Lancelin, Penique Production, Pneuhaus & Bike Powered Events, Motorefisico, Signal Creative Living, and Quiet Ensemble. The museum emphasizes environmental responsibility, using biodegradable or recyclable materials and sustainable production and disposal processes. Highlights include Lancelin's two site-specific works, Penique Production's large inflatable structure, and Pneuhaus's 'Canopy', an interactive installation generating energy through a dynamo system. The museum will tour to other locations after Rome.
