Baldo Diodato, Schirin Kretschmann, Yorgos Stamkopoulos at Galleria Mario Iannelli, Rome

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Galleria Mario Iannelli in Rome presents 'Il passo della storia. Tre artisti a Roma', a group exhibition featuring Baldo Diodato, Schirin Kretschmann, and Yorgos Stamkopoulos. The show is part of the gallery's Cast project. Diodato, born in Naples in 1938, transforms the gallery floor into a large 'Frottage Multicolore' using black, yellow, red, blue, and green, capturing the traces of visitors' movements. On the walls, alongside Diodato's works—including cutouts from the floor installation that were removed during the opening—are small visual notes by Kretschmann and Stamkopoulos, created between 2019 and 2021. The exhibition was scheduled to include Diodato's solo show 'Walking on Canvas' on January 21, but that has been postponed. The display aims to create a polyphonic action where the spectator becomes an active participant.
