Bahrain Art Across Borders Launches at V&A London
Bahrain Art Across Borders (BAAB), a new initiative by consultancy Art Select, was inaugurated at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Supported by Tamkeen, a governmental organization, BAAB seeks to elevate Bahraini contemporary art on a global scale. The first event is a group exhibition at Gallery 8, which will be open until June 4, showcasing 17 Bahraini artists chosen through an open call in February. Featured artists include Amina Al Abbasi, Balqees Fakhro, Ebrahim BuSaad, and others. Additionally, these artists engaged in visits and discussions at prominent art institutions in London. BAAB originated from an Art Lounge in 2009 and the Art Bahrain fair in 2015, with aspirations for international exhibitions and collaborations.
