BADMAASH opens brutalist-inspired Venice restaurant with art-filled design
BADMAASH, the Indian eatery launched by brothers Nakul and Arjun Mahendro, has inaugurated its third outlet in Venice, California, located at 1616 Abbott Kinney Boulevard. The restaurant showcases a brutalist design crafted by Preen, featuring a mottled concrete service table, blackened brick walls, and a main dining area decorated with tie-dyed fabrics. Notable artwork includes a piece by Action Bronson. Inside, patrons will find marble and bone inlay tables, denim banquettes designed by Guillermo Andrade, and Pulp Fiction-inspired lighting created by John Barlow. The menu boasts signature dishes alongside new cocktails. Since its establishment in Downtown Los Angeles in 2013, BADMAASH has also expanded to Fairfax and a London pop-up, and now offers bottled butter chicken sauce and Oatmilk Chai at Erewhon. Nakul Mahendro considers Venice a natural progression for the brand.
