B-Art Gallery Opens in Rome with Hybrid Art, Music, and Wine Format

exhibition · 2026-04-27

A new contemporary art space, B-Art Gallery, has opened in Rome's Trastevere district at Via Natale Del Grande 21. Founded by art history student Gian Lorenzo Bernini and food & beverage manager Daniel Bianca, the 150-square-meter venue includes a courtyard and vertical garden. The gallery aims to make contemporary art accessible in an informal atmosphere, focusing on emerging Roman artists. Its inaugural exhibition, "Anabasi," is a two-person show featuring Giovanni Lo Castro and Giorgia Grassi, both born in Rome in 1997. The exhibition opens with a 72-hour "short exhibition" featuring music, wine from Sicilian producers (referencing Lo Castro's origins), after which works remain on display for two weeks. The gallery uses a contactless payment system with bracelets or cards for purchases ranging from wine to artworks and merchandise. The title "Anabasi" refers to the Greek term for ascent, symbolizing liberation from reality. Lo Castro's works blend digital manipulation with print on canvas, while Grassi's paintings convey emotional states through dense brushstrokes, with titles like "Abbandono," "Annichilimento," "Autolesionismo," and "Apatia." The opening event is scheduled for May 7, 2021, from 15:00 to 21:00.
