Azzurra Art's Wenice Collection Transposes Murano Glass Techniques to Ceramic Basins

At Cersaie 2026, Azzurra Art unveiled Wenice, a new collection of artisanal washbasins designed by Marco Zito. The collection, inspired by the glassmaking techniques of Murano, translates the language of Venetian glass into ceramic, exploring new expressive forms through color, texture, and material. Wenice comprises three models—Tondo, Toro, and Otto—each featuring soft volumes that reinterpret ceramic tradition from a contemporary perspective. The pieces showcase a variety of textures and finishes, including Rigadin, Bolle, Sfumato, and metallic surfaces, which evoke the decorative techniques of Venetian glass. These finishes, applied to ceramic, create novel visual and tactile effects that enhance the character of each basin and emphasize artisanal craftsmanship. The collection is realized by the master ceramists of AZZURRAceramica, underscoring a commitment to unique pieces that transcend everyday functionality. Wenice positions ceramic as a medium for storytelling, where design, tradition, and craftsmanship converge. The collection was presented at Cersaie, a leading international trade fair for ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, held in Bologna, Italy.
