Azza Aboualam to Curate UAE Pavilion at 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale

Azza Aboualam has been appointed as the curator for the UAE’s National Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, which will run from May 10 to November 23, 2025. The exhibition, titled Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective., will be directed by Italian architect Carlo Ratti. Aboualam, an assistant professor at Zayed University, was selected through an open call directed at professionals familiar with the UAE or MENASA region. Her role will include presenting research at the event and producing a publication. His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, the UAE Minister of Culture, emphasized the ministry's dedication to fostering local talent and boosting cultural engagement. Aboualam had also interned during the pavilion's inaugural participation in the biennale.
