Azimut's Seadeck 9: Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez Design Hybrid Yacht

architecture-design · 2026-08-04

Azimut Yachts has introduced the Seadeck 9, its largest vessel to date, crafted at the Avigliana shipyard. This yacht represents a shift from traditional designs, showcasing interiors by Milan architects Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, recognized for their work on the Vigilius Mountain Resort. This project marks their inaugural yacht collaboration. The design features a 180-degree pool deck and cascading terraces that integrate the pool with the waterline, challenging conventional superyacht structures. Giovanna Vitelli, Chair of Azimut|Benetti since 2023, emphasized the vision of naval architect Alberto Mancini to harmonize with the sea. The Seadeck 9, Azimut's first hybrid series, is constructed on a carbon-fiber hull for enhanced efficiency and includes sustainable materials. The yacht was launched in Sardinia, supported by a €50 million investment in the shipyard.
