Ayoung Kim's Delivery Dancer Trilogy Premieres at MoMA PS1

exhibition · 2026-04-19

From November 6, 2024, to March 16, 2025, MoMA PS1 in New York will present the U.S. premiere of Ayoung Kim's Delivery Dancer trilogy. Born in 1979, the Seoul-based artist employs generative AI and video game technology to investigate the intersection of data and human experiences. Her installation, Arc: Inverse (2024), critiques the Gregorian calendar of Western modernism within the fictional setting of Novaria. The trilogy commenced with Delivery Dancer's Sphere (2022), which features female delivery drivers En Storm and Ernst Mo—names that are anagrams of "monster." Kim's exploration of gig economy labor has earned her international accolades, including the Prix Ars Electronica. Additionally, MoMA PS1's winter lineup features Gabrielle Goliath, Vaginal Davis, and Inuuteq Storch.
