Aviva Survey: 22% Leave Phones or Cameras Unattended in Public
A recent survey by Aviva, a U.K. insurance company, reveals that 22% of people leave their phones or cameras behind in public while taking selfies or recording videos. The research, focused on U.K. adults, shows that Generation X (ages 45-60) is the most likely to do this, with 41% doing it for social media and 25% for work. Millennials (ages 29-44) are nearly as likely, with 40% admitting to the same behavior. While Gen Z (ages 18-28) is less likely to leave their devices, 38% say they get distracted by them. Common reasons for leaving devices behind include capturing memories (49%) and social media (38%). Moreover, 25% reported damage, and 5% lost their devices. Laura Lazarus from Aviva advises keeping devices out of sight and suggests customers consider Personal Belongings cover for their insurance, as standard policies usually don't cover items taken outside.
