Averna Spazio Open: New Cultural Hub Launches in Palermo
Averna Spazio Open, a cultural center spanning 2,000 square meters, has been launched by the Averna Group in the Zisa district of Palermo, located in a repurposed industrial pavilion at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa. This venue features a botanical garden, a performance space, and a refreshment area constructed from a recycled shipping container. The inaugural concert took place on August 30, 2022, showcasing Roy Paci. This initiative, developed in partnership with the Municipality of Palermo and ETS Cantiere Culturali alla Zisa, aims to serve the local community. Clarice Pinto from Campari Group, which purchased Averna in 2014, highlighted the project's focus on regeneration and inclusivity. Averna's origins trace back to the 19th century with monk Frà Girolamo and textile merchant Salvatore Averna.
