Autostrada Biennale 2023 Announces 30 Projects Across Kosovo

The 4th edition of Autostrada Biennale will take place across Prizren, Prishtina, and Mitrovica, Kosovo, featuring 30 projects, 17 of which are new commissions. Curated by Joanna Warsza and Övül Ö. Durmuşoğlu, the biennial explores themes of collective autobiographies, cultural archives, multidirectional memory, hope, and persistence. Artists include Agnes Denes, Anna Boghiguian, Bajram Mehmeti, Bella Rune, Blerta Haziraj, Bouchra Khalili, Dardan Zhegrova, Darinka Pop-Mitić, Hong-Kai Wang, Gözde İlkin, Ivo Nikić, Kameelah Janan Rasheed, Kostas Bassanos, Luchezar Boyadjiev, Michael Rakowitz, Mila Panić, Nathan Gray and the Juluwarlu Group Aboriginal Corporation, Nil Yalter, Neda Saeedi, Núria Güell, Open Group, Oscar Lara, Sebastián Díaz Morales & Ruangrupa, School of Mutants, Selma Selman, Vatra Gallery, Xhevdet Xhafa, Hera Büyüktaşcıyan, Alban Muja, and Rena Rädle & Vladan Jeremić. The biennial operates alongside Autostrada Hangar, a space for ongoing education and production. Founding directors Leutrim Fishekqiu, Vatra Abrashi, and Barıs Karamuço emphasize art production as sustainable learning. The edition is curated in collaboration with CuratorLab 2022/23 from Konstfack University of Arts in Stockholm.
