Autistic Artist Vito Bonanno's Work in Amazon and Google Collections

Vito Bonanno, a New England-based artist diagnosed with PDD/Autism at age four, has his artwork in the corporate collections of Amazon and Google. His work, which explores emotional and social challenges of autism, is held by Amazon in Seattle and Google in Leesburg, VA. Bonanno's first solo exhibition, 'Unfiltered V: Vito Bonanno Riding with the Train Girls', opened in January 2012 at Akus Gallery, Eastern CT State University. His piece 'Ghost Town on Davenport Avenue' was exhibited at the S. Dillon Ripley Center, Smithsonian Institution, and toured nationally. Another work, 'Southhaven People', was shown at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He was one of 16 artists selected for a Kennedy Center Hall of Nations exhibition sponsored by Volkswagen Group of America, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the ADA and 40th of VSA in 2015. Curator Stephanie Moore chose his works 'Daffy Goes to Waterbury with a Ninja Turtle' and 'SECR Toilet'. Bonanno is aligned with ArtLifting, a nonprofit empowering artists with disabilities, which facilitated his corporate placements. His art features motifs like traffic lights, grids, ceiling fans, graffiti, and pop culture, rooted in storyboard techniques developed in childhood.
