Authclick: Blockchain Platform for Photography Certification

Authclick, a blockchain-based platform for certifying photographic works, was founded in 2019 by professors and researchers from the University of Milan. The startup originated from a 2017 project funded by Fondazione Cariplo, in partnership with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Authclick offers services including copyright protection, transaction registration, aesthetic and content certification, and digital archiving. The platform uses qualitative, quantitative, and technical indicators for cataloging, based on ICCD and SIRBeC standards. In 2021, Fimart Italia (part of the American group Look Lateral) acquired a majority stake. Authclick aims to create a community linking artists, gallerists, curators, museums, and institutions. The platform is now on market, with a gallery of certified works and a community for users. Future plans include organizing exhibitions and events. Recently, Authclick launched the first edition of the Premio Punctum, themed 'Sinestesie Cromatiche,' in collaboration with Fondazione Maimeri, MIA Fair, and the National Association of Professional Photographers. The Museo Marino Marini in Florence will host the winners' exhibition.
