Aurelio Amendola narrates six 20th-century artists in Sky Arte web series

Pistoia Musei and Sky Arte have launched a web series titled "Storie di artisti. Sei artisti raccontati da Aurelio Amendola," featuring six video-pills in which the renowned Italian photographer recounts the lives and works of major 20th-century artists. The first episode, released on April 24, 2021, focuses on Marino Marini. Subsequent episodes will cover Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Burri, Andy Warhol, Claudio Parmiggiani, and Jannis Kounellis. Directed by Metilene Design e Comunicazione, the series is tied to the ongoing exhibition "Aurelio Amendola | Un’antologia. Michelangelo, Burri, Warhol e gli altri" at Pistoia Musei's Palazzo Buontalenti and Antico Palazzo dei Vescovi, which surveys over 60 years of Amendola's career and his relationship between photography and art. Amendola, born in Pistoia in 1938, has worked as a photographer for the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the Uffizi, the Vatican Museums, FMR magazine, and the Vittoriale degli Italiani, and has documented works by Michelangelo, Canova, Bernini, Jacopo della Quercia, Donatello, and Giovanni Pisano. The series is published weekly on the websites and social channels of Pistoia Musei and Sky Arte.
