Augeo Art Space Opens with Berta and Guerra de la Paz Double Solo Show
Augeo Art Space in Rimini has inaugurated with a double solo exhibition featuring Italian artist Filippo Berta and American duo Guerra de la Paz, curated by Claudia Löffelholz and LaRete Art Projects, who were entrusted with the annual program. The exhibition focuses on context-driven cultural development, promotion of young Italian art, and international exchange. The bi-personal format, chosen by the curators alongside artistic director Matteo Sormani, involves works produced on-site after artist residencies in the territory. Berta presents the video "Sulla retta via" (2014), documenting a performance on a local beach where over sixty people traced a line along the shoreline, echoing the wave's boundary. His large-format photographs include "Homo Homini Lupus" (2011) and "Déjà vu" (2008). Guerra de la Paz uses recycled clothing to create archaeological ruins and classical forms combined with contemporary materials like concrete and steel. Their series "Tableaux. Traces of an hidden (hi)story" explores archaeology, with objects evoking color, architecture, and the silent histories of garment owners. The exhibition runs until June 8, 2014, at Augeo Art Space, Corso d'Augusto 217.
