Audrey Hepburn's life story becomes a graphic novel
A new graphic novel titled 'Audrey Hepburn. La biografia a fumetti' chronicles the life of the iconic British actress, published by ReNoir Comics. Written by journalist Eileen Hofer and illustrator Christopher, the book covers Hepburn's childhood in a cosmopolitan yet war-torn environment, her dream of becoming a dancer, and her film career with roles like Holly Golightly in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', Princess Ann in 'Roman Holiday', and Eliza in 'My Fair Lady'. A key section focuses on her humanitarian work: she retired from acting at 40 to focus on family and charity, becoming a UNICEF ambassador. The book includes an interview with her son Luca Dotti, who explains her dedication to UNICEF stemmed from aid she received from UNRRA after WWII, when she suffered from edema, jaundice, and anemia. Hepburn also supported the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, and Terre des hommes, and raised funds for the Netherlands since her theater days in 'Gigi'. The graphic novel was developed with Dotti's support and includes intimate anecdotes and memories.
