Audiovisiva: Italian Culture Documentaries Go Global with New Streaming Platform
A new streaming service, Audiovisiva, has been launched at audiovisiva.org to showcase high-quality documentaries focused on Italian cultural icons from the 20th and 21st centuries. Established by Francisca Parrino, Alessandra de Antonellis, and Barbara Carneglia with backing from Fondazione Cariplo, the platform boasts over 300 documentaries featuring notable figures such as Marisa Merz and Luchino Visconti. As Italy's sole Eurovod member and the first aggregator for Kanopy, Audiovisiva employs a multi-channel distribution strategy, making films available through its own store as well as iTunes and Amazon Video. Revenue distribution allocates 70% to rights holders and 30% to operational costs, with initial offerings including titles on Carlo Scarpa and Arturo di Modica, alongside educational access for schools.
