Audi Q9 flagship SUV debuts as largest model with three-row seating and innovative lighting

Audi has announced the Q9, its first 'full-size' SUV and the largest car it has ever made, measuring 5.31m long and 2.21m wide with wheel sizes up to 23 inches. Positioned above the Q7 and Q8, the Q9 targets the US market and competes with models like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. It features three rows of full-sized seating, a 1.5 sq m panoramic sunroof, power-operated doors, a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, heated armrests and front centre console, adaptive air suspension, and quattro four-wheel-drive. A world-first indicator projection system beams a directional arrow on the ground when turning. The Q9 is powered by a mild-hybrid 3.0-litre V6 diesel capable of electric-only driving; there is no pure EV variant. Built in Bratislava, UK sales begin in August 2026.
