Atherton, located in Silicon Valley, has reclaimed its title as the priciest ZIP code in the United States, overtaking Fisher Island in Miami. During the first half of 2026, the median home sale price in Atherton soared to $9.93 million, marking an increase of nearly 20% from the previous year, fueled by wealth generated from AI. The town, which attracts tech founders and executives due to its privacy and closeness to Silicon Valley, is predominantly residential with few new developments. This year, Atherton has seen five homes sold for over $30 million. Prominent residents include Marc Andreessen, Eric Schmidt, and Stephen Curry. Last year, a newly constructed estate was listed for almost $50 million, while Villa Anahid launched at $57.5 million.
