Atelier Xi completes sculptural AYDC Public Art Centre in Guiyang with three cave-inspired pavilions
Atelier Xi has finalized the AYDC Public Art Centre located in Guiyang, China, which comprises three pavilions adorned with stone, set within a landscaped park. This project has been shortlisted for the small project category at the Dezeen Awards 2025 and features a library, Ginkgo Chapel, and Dali Stage. Chen Xi, the principal, mentioned that the design draws inspiration from the karst caves of Guizhou, merging the built environment with the natural landscape. Each pavilion showcases distinct elements: the library includes a sunken reading area, the chapel features inverted arch walls, and the stage rests on a concrete base. The park, crafted by So Boring Company, incorporates native flora and seating arrangements. Atelier Xi has also designed a visitor center in Shenzhen and a library on a tea plantation.
