Atelier Write Transforms Tokyo Warehouse into Hair Salon
Atelier Write has renovated a former lumber warehouse in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, Tokyo, into a hair salon called unravel. The 375-square-meter project, completed in 2026, was designed for client Hiroyuki Nagae to host not only daily salon services but also seminars for hairdressers, photoshoots, and pop-up events by local shops. The architecture team was led by Takuya Sakamoto, with project management by PLANT, construction by TANK, signage by Hiyori Yamaguchi, and acoustics by WHITELIGHT. The salon features products from Chiyoda ute, Karimoku New Standard, Kvadrat, Monotaro, and Tetsuya Japan. Photographs were taken by Kenta Hasegawa.
