Atelier Nuanda's Plico Screen Wins at EDIT Napoli, Cecilia Rinaldi on Craft and Slow Design
In October 2024, Atelier Nuanda, established in Bologna in 2022 by designer Cecilia Rinaldi, secured victory in the Seminario section at EDIT Napoli with Plico, a folding screen crafted from reflective aluminum and hand-woven leather. Rinaldi, who graduated from IED Interior Design, started the atelier alongside her husband during the pandemic. The name Nuanda is inspired by the film Dead Poets Society. She has created a unique leather processing method and has showcased her work at Alcova and the Lake Como Design Festival. Rinaldi's mt55 line merges Spanish and Korean hat styles with Italian leather. Looking ahead to 2025, she plans to participate in FuoriSalone MDW2025, develop a new Plico, and host a charity event honoring her mother.
