Atelier cnS transforms Nanhai Dali industrial warehouses into public waterfront space

In Dali's Nanhai District, the Yanbu 1432 project has revamped old riverside warehouses into a vibrant public waterfront. Spearheaded by HAN Shuang and designed by Atelier cnS architects, the initiative was led by Zhu Zhiyuan, Song Gang, and Zhong Guanqiu. Located in the Yanbu Old Dragon 1432 Zone along the Huadi River, this 24,410 square meter renovation highlights buildings that played a role in the historical Guangzhou-Foshan trade route. Completed in 2025, the team, under project directors Hairui Lin and Huang Wenxuan, included members like uan Xuqian and intern Frank Ouyang. The construction designs came from Atelier cnS-S&C, Shengyi Architecture, and Tianyuanji for landscaping, with Foshan Urban Construction managing the grain plant and Guangdong Yangyi Construction overseeing the distillery. This change marks Dali's shift from industry to a more livable space, complemented by the Qiandeng Lake axis extension. Siming Wu documented the project through photography.
