Aste Boetto to Auction Rare 20th-Century Design in Genoa

On April 28–29, 2026, Genoese auction house Aste Boetto will hold a two-day sale of 20th-century design and decorative arts. Highlights include a rare Ico Parisi desk chair from 1950 (lot 2079), one of only two known examples; a set of 'Africa' chairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto (lot 2203) with original logos; and Gio Ponti's 'Sedia da Camino' (lot 2026) featured on the cover of 'Stile' magazine in 1942. The first session on April 28 features the 'Selected' catalog with Murano glass by Carlo Scarpa (lot 2062, 'A fili' lamp for Venini) and Pietro Chiesa (lot 2063, deep blue crystal vase for FontanaArte). The second session on April 29 focuses on decorative arts, including lighting by Max Ingrand (lot 3171, suspension lamp for FontanaArte), ceramics by Guido Andloviz (lots 3019–3020 for S.C.I. di Laveno), and postmodern works by Ettore Sottsass (lot 3489, 'Gli specchi di Dioniso' mirror for Glas Italia). Other lots include a 144-piece 'San Marco' cutlery set by Gio Ponti for Krupp (lot 2091), Charlotte Perriand's 'LC 7' swivel armchair (lot 3456), the 'Arco' lamp by the Castiglioni brothers (lot 3279), and an Ico Parisi model '751' table for Cassina (lot 3277).
