Associates Architecture: Italian-South African Studio Bridges Past and Future
Associates Architecture, established in 2017 in Brescia by Nicolò Galeazzi and Martina Salvaneschi, operates across Italy, Mexico, and Portugal. The duo first crossed paths at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale before launching their studio the following year. They have been nominated for the Medaglia d'Oro all'Architettura Italiana and Premio Piranesi and have served as visiting professors. Among 17 selected studios, they were the youngest to be recognized for the 2018 EU Mies van der Rohe Awards and participated in both the 16th and 17th Venice Architecture Biennales. In 2023, they received an invitation to propose a project for the Italian Pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale. Notable works include the Chapel of Silence and Sin Nombre House and Gallery.
