Assemble on Democracy, Community, and Their First Major Building

Assemble, a collective based in London and recipient of the 2015 Turner Prize for their Granby Four Streets CLT initiative, is currently showcasing a solo exhibition titled "Ways of Listening" at the British School at Rome. This exhibition is part of the "Brave New World. New Visions in Architecture" series, curated by Marina Engel, and highlights ongoing endeavors such as Baltic Adventure Playground, OTOProjects, and Granby Four Streets through various media including videos, poems, and drawings. The group operates with a non-hierarchical model featuring 16 directors and economist Karim Khelil, who make decisions collectively. Their inaugural large-scale project, the Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art, was inaugurated on September 8, 2018, alongside other works like the Winter Garden at Granby Four Streets and their contributions to the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale.
