Aspen Art Fair prioritizes immersion over expansion with strong sales

festival-fair · 2026-07-31

Launched in 2024, the Aspen Art Fair integrates art with the stunning alpine scenery of Aspen, Colorado. Co-founded by Bob Chase, it introduces distinctive activities such as cold plunges, guided hikes, and forest-bathing. This event coincides with the ArtCrush fundraiser and AIR Festival at the Aspen Art Museum, enriching the town's art week. The Aspen Art Museum, in collaboration with Art Basel, organized a 'Collector Camp' priced at either $5,000 or $10,000, led by Vincenzo de Bellis. The fair originated from Aspen's expanding collector community during the Covid-19 pandemic, with sales exceeding $400,000, including pieces by Leda Tsoutreli and Luke Agada. Tschabalala Self received the Anderson Ranch Arts Center Visiting Artist Prize. The fair continues until 1 August at Hotel Jerome.
