Asia Society New York receives $2 million endowment from Mary Livingston Griggs and Mary Griggs Burke Foundation

A $2 million grant has been awarded to New York's Asia Society by the Mary Livingston Griggs and Mary Griggs Burke Foundation. This philanthropic organization from Minnesota will support exhibition and education initiatives at the institution. The foundation honors a mother-daughter pair who assembled one of the most extensive collections of Japanese art spanning from prehistoric times to the present. Selected works from their holdings will feature in the museum's forthcoming exhibition, Kamakura: Realism and Spirituality in the Sculpture of Japan, scheduled to run from 9 February to 8 May 2016.
