Asia Forum Launches Itinerant Platform for Global Asias Art Discourse During Venice Biennale

On April 23, 2022, Venice, Italy, hosted the launch of the Asia Forum for the Contemporary Art of Global Asias, aligning with the 59th Venice Biennale. This event, curated by Annie Jael Kwan, was held at Fondazione Querini Stampalia for just one day. Activities included roundtable discussions, artist showcases, and screenings, all streamed live by ArtReview. The Bagri Foundation supported the event, collaborating with IED, GAD, and Ca' Foscari University. Highlights featured a roundtable titled 'Tracing Asia Art Histories: Modernity as Crime Scene' with speakers like Hoor Al Qasimi and Patrick Flores, along with presentations from Ho Rui An and Yuki Kihara. The curatorial council included Hammad Nasar, John Tain, and Ming Tiampo, with additional support from Something Human and DVRI.
