Asia Art Pioneers Awards Launch in Shanghai, Honoring Regional Art Leaders

On November 8, the first Asia Art Pioneers awards ceremony took place at Modern Art Base in Shanghai, celebrating key contributors to contemporary art in Asia. This initiative, established by Modern Media and collaboratively organized with The Art Newspaper China, ArtReview Asia, and LEAP, aims to enhance artistic creation and cultural dialogue. Awards were presented to Huang Yong Ping (1954–2019) for Lifetime Achievement, Okayama Art Summit 2019 for Public Art Project of the Year, and 'Awakenings: Art in Society in Asia 1960s–1990s' for Exhibition of the Year. Gudskul earned the title of Innovator of the Year, while Cao Fei and Nikhil Chopra were recognized as Artists of the Year. Kevin Ching was honored as Art Market Personality, with various exhibitions acknowledged in different categories.
