ArtX and ArtReview Present Sensescape Exhibition in Tokyo Featuring Ray Kunimoto and Miwa Kakuta

exhibition · 2026-04-20

On November 5, the Sensescape exhibition took place at Hven in Nakameguro, Tokyo, organized by ArtX in partnership with ArtReview. This event showcased immersive works by artists Ray Kunimoto and Miwa Kakuta. Kunimoto's sound sculpture, titled [KAZE #2-hūm], featured 567 suspended iron plates that produced unique sonic experiences, while his piece SHIZUKU captured the soothing essence of dripping water. Kakuta's contribution, From two in one, paid tribute to the broom through sculpture. A dialogue between Kunimoto and ArtReview Editor-in-Chief Mark Rappolt delved into the exhibition's themes, including the influence of Buddhist ideas on Kunimoto's art. Culinary fusion by French chef Thomas Kim further enriched the event. ArtX also donated auction proceeds to support coral-reef conservation efforts in Okinawa.
